Pricing Currency
All prices quoted are in NZ dollars.
Bookings
For all multiday tours a deposit of $100.00 per person is required at the time of booking. The receipt form raised when the deposit is made will be confirmation of your contract with Tiki Tours. The balance of payment is due not less than 15 days prior to your departure date in order to facilitate timely preparation and delivery of travel documentation. Reservations may be made right up to the tour departure date, subject to availability and bookings confirmed within 15 days of departure require immediate full payment.
For all single day tours full payment for each day tour is required at the time of booking. The receipt form raised when the deposit is made will be confirmation of your contract with Tiki Tours.
Alterations by Tiki Tours
It is unlikely that we will make changes to your booking once it has been confirmed however Tiki Tours reserves the right to do so on or before the balance due date. These changes are often minor and you will be notified immediately.
All tours featured require a minimum number of bookings before they will operate and on very rare occasions we may cancel a tour due to low passenger numbers. If there is a major change to your itinerary or if your tour is cancelled, providing this is not due to force majeure*, you will be notified at least 15 Days before the tour is due to commence and offered an alternative itinerary. You will have the option of accepting these alternative arrangements, in which case any difference in price will be refunded to you; purchasing another available holiday from us; or cancelling the booking completely whereby you will be given a full refund.
*Force majeure is used to describe unusual or unforeseen circumstances such as war, threat of war, riot, civil disorder, terrorist activity, strike, natural or industrial disaster, adverse weather conditions or similar events that are beyond our control.
Cancellations
If you wish to cancel a confirmed booking the following fees are applicable, effective from when the cancellation is received by Tiki Tours
- For any multiday tour bookings cancelled after the reservations have been confirmed and up to 15 days prior to departure there will be no charge.
- For any multiday tour bookings cancellations received between 15 and 7 days – before tour departure will be subject to 50% of the cost of the tour.
- For any single day tour bookings cancelled after the reservations have been confirmed and up to 7 days prior to departure there will be no charge.
- For all tours cancellations made between 7 days and 0 days before a tour departure will be subject to 100% of the cost of the tour.
- For all tours cancellations made after the departure of the tour will be subject to 100% of the cost of the tour
Note: Departure date is considered the first date in which pre-booked arrangements made by Tiki Tours commence.
Price Guarantee
Once full payment for your tour has been received by Tiki Tours, the price is guaranteed not to change.
Responsibility
The transport companies or firms concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time the passengers are on board their vehicles or conveyances. The passenger contract in use by the carriers concerned when issued shall constitute the sole contract between the transportation companies or firms and the purchaser of these tours and/or passengers. Tiki Tours Ltd., and/or its associate companies or agents act only in the capacity of agents for the suppliers in all matters of transportation, tour operation and other services. Seasonal variation in accommodation services may necessitate minor variations to itineraries and hotel standards. These will be made to the best advantage with appropriate adjustment to costs. All quotations are subject to tariff and rate variations to itineraries and hotel standards. Tiki Tours ltd. assumes no responsibility for injury, damage, accident, loss, delay or irregularities that may be caused to person or property and all bookings are subject to the usual conditions of bookings of Tiki Tours Ltd. The transportation companies or firms shall be exempt from all liability in respect of any deterioration, delay, loss, damage, sickness, or injury, however, and by whomsoever caused and of whatever kind occurring of/or to the passenger at the time when the passengers are not on board the carrier or a conveyance used or operated by the transportation companies or firms. The passage contract in use by the transport companies or firms concerned shall constitute the sole contract between the transport companies or firms and the purchaser of these tours and/or passengers. All tickets, deposit tickets, coupons and orders are furnished and issued subject in all respects to those terms and conditions under which the means of transportation or other services provided thereby are offered or supplied by owners, operators, public carriers, managing agents or agents. The right is reserved to cancel or withdraw at any time bookings made by or for the client in which event no liability whatsoever in respect of such cancellation or withdrawal shall fall upon Tiki Tours Ltd., save only that there shall be refunded to the client the monies paid by him in respect of the bookings so cancelled or withdrawn.
Travel Insurance
It is recommended that Travel Insurance be purchased to cover against loss or damage to luggage, accident or sickness and any legitimate, unforeseen need to cancel your tour.
G.S.T. (Goods & Services Tax)
The New Zealand Government imposes a 12.5% Goods and Services Tax on all goods and services utilised in New Zealand. This tax is included in all prices quoted in this Brochure.
Not Included
Charges for personal services, gratuities, laundry, drinks, meals except as specified, pre-travel documentation, personal accident and medical expenses and incidental expenses including all communication charges incurred on passenger's behalf.
Complaints
Any problems that occur whilst on holiday should be directed at the earliest opportunity to the Tiki Tours Office in Auckland. Complaints must be submitted in writing to Tiki Tours no later than 30 days after returning from tour.
Group Allocations on Scheduled Tours
Tiki Tours runs a year round coach tour programme with many and varied itinerary options available from single island to two islands packages. If you have a group of 15 or more passengers travelling together you can request an allocation on one of our many departure dates to suit your needs. All of our itineraries and departure dates are featured in our Coach Tour Holidays brochure.
You can reserve the space with the comfort that should you have a smaller number then originally planned you will all still travel together with our regular travellers offering you the greatest flexibility when planning a group package.
By taking an allocation of 15 or more people you can save money on your total package price.
Validity
All tours in the brochure are valid from 01 January 2010 to 30 September 2010 and supersede any previous brochures.
Rail Terms & Conditions
Baggage
2 items per person, maximum weight 20kg per item. Size must no more than 200 liners cms (height plus width plus depth) Baggage between 20 to 30 kg: we require your assistance in loading/unloading your bag from the baggage van or you can repack bags provided to meet the 20kg per item limit
Baggage over 30kg
Will not be accepted, your baggage will need to be repacked into bags provided to meet the 20kg per item limit
Prices are per person, twin share in NZ$. A deposit of $200.00 per person is required to secure booking. Deposit is fully refundable up to 60 days prior to travel. Full payment is due 35 days prior to travel. Payment can be made by cheque or by credit card. Credit card payments accepted with a 2% surcharge.
Within 60 days of travel the following cancellation charges apply,

All costs are based on prices as known at time of printing and are subject to change at any time should there be changes in service costs, fuel prices and taxes.
Station platforms are generally no longer in place once the tour leaves the main trunk line and you will need to disembark and embark the train by means of three to four vertical steps on the train. For your safety and enjoyment you should be in good physical condition to partake in the tour unaided.
This tour is suitable for passengers of all ages; however it is not suitable for wheelchairs and those with limited mobility.
No passenger will be permitted to embark or continue on tour while their mental or physical condition is, in the opinion of any representative of Tiki Railtours and the tour leader/escort, such as to render them incapable of caring for themselves, or where by they become objectionable to other passengers, or they become a hazard to themselves or other passengers. Tiki Railtours will not be responsible for expenses resulting in such persons being precluded from completing the tour.
